About KC

Accessible design with purpose and impact
I’m Kathryn Collins, ADS, founder of KC & the Graphics Bandwagon and an IAAP-accredited Accessible Document Specialist.
This means I have spent way too many hours designing and remediating documents, and earned a shiny badge to prove it. But more importantly, it means I know how to make content that’s genuinely usable, not just compliant.
I’m proud to be one of the first in Australia to earn this certification, and part of a global community raising the bar on accessibility and inclusive design.
I work with purpose-led organisations, not-for-profits and government departments to create accessible, beautifully branded documents that everyone can use, including people with disability and neurodivergent users who use screen readers or assistive technology.
Why I do what I do
After working in the not-for-profit disability sector, I saw how hard it was to find design that met both accessibility standards and brand expectations. I knew there had to be a better way, so I built one.
Accessibility can feel overwhelming, but with the right process and expertise, it becomes clear and actionable. I design and remediate content so it’s easy to navigate, understand, and engage with. That’s what true accessibility means.
With over 30 years of experience across graphic design, production, and accessibility, I bring a blend of technical know-how, creative thinking, and real-world insight to every project.
A personal note
I’m currently deepening my understanding of dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia, inspired by my son’s lived experiences. It’s shifting how I approach design and helping me create content that feels more intuitive, inclusive, and usable for all.
